The idea of the App originated walking in the mountains, tired not knowing what plant I am looking at and wondering if would be able to purchase this plant in a garden nursery.
This lead to the design of Find Plants Mobile app which enables the user to gain immediate information about the plant by just taking pictures. The App offers educational information what the plant is, how a plant can be used and maintained, where the plant is available to be purchased in a garden nursery, and the information is stored in a personal plant collection. The app additionally assists users to determine which California native plant species can be planted in their vegetation zone.
Research
I performed qualitative and quantitative research, designed three personas, and conducted a competitive analysis to validate the value proposition for the mobile app.
